Boards Make Leadership Gift Challenge
While the news is good regarding the headquarters, it is just one more step in the journey. During the Executive Session at the Board meeting in November, a significant discussion was held to re-order fundraising priorities for the Foundation. In previous years, while we had been very successful in raising funds, the results have favored individual chapters and planned giving rather then national program initiatives. The Board has requested a change in focus to raising unrestricted cash that can more directly benefit Foundation operations as well as the Fraternity.
The case for support of such efforts is among the most difficult. To assist in this effort the Board of Directors of the Educational Foundation unanimously voted to commit to personally giving $100,000 this year to the Annual Fund. Members of the Arch Chapter not on our Board have asked to be included as well. We are excited to be able to announce we have nearly reached this goal. This means over a 40% increase in the Boards’ current giving. They are now challenging other alumni to match their increase and bring in an additional $100,000 to the annual fund by July 2010.
These gifts will help further stabilize and rebuild operations of the Foundation so we can over time better assist the Fraternity.
